Sports: Trojans’ Malloy named Republic boys’ basketball player of year

PARKSTON — Matt Malloy exudes confidence. But who could blame him? The 5-foot-10 senior point guard led the Parkston boys’ basketball team to an undefeated record of 23-0 up to the second round of the Class A state tournament, became the second all-time leading scorer in Parkston High history and is headed to the University of Sioux Falls on a scholarship to play both basketball and baseball.
