Our View: Looking back at 2007 session

Compared to some, this year’s legislative session was less rancorous but its productivity seemed to be about the same. Much has been said about the relative absence of contentiousness, credited to the limited discussion of abortion legislation. Our recollection is that passions ran quite high early on when Sen. Dan Sutton’s conduct was in question. That process proved once again that contrary to some pundits, morality is on the legislative table, be it abortion, capital punishment or the moral and ethical behavior of one of its members.
