Sports: Kernels earn ‘3AA’ upset over Huron

HURON — Mitchell High picked the right time to end its five-game losing streak. Getting solid and surprising performances from 6-foot-3 junior forward Stephen Peschong and 6-2 senior forward Adam Fosness, the fourth-seeded Kernels knocked off top-seeded Huron 73-69 in the opening round of the District 3AA boys’ basketball playoffs Tuesday night at the Huron Arena.
