Opinion: South Dakota Editorial Roundup
Yes, we know the myths. People are leaving South Dakota, our population is declining and the state is mostly inhabited by older people. Some people enjoy perpetuating myths. It’s a relatively harmless way of complaining about our way of life, and perhaps an excuse for not getting ready for a brighter future. Alas, the myths aren’t true. The average age of South Dakotans is about the same as the national average, and more people are moving to South Dakota than are moving away.
