Sports: DWU grinds one out

Winning ugly still gets you a win. In a game where a combined 49 fouls were committed and 71 free throws were shot, nothing was going to be beautiful. However, Dakota Wesleyan persevered with an 89-72 nonconference win over Dakota State in a men’s basketball game Saturday at the Corn Palace. The Tigers (11-2), who are ranked No. 14 in NAIA Division II, converted 30-of-44 free throws in the game, but had missed 10 at halftime and only led 40-32.
