Sports: Gates named golfer of the week

Dakota Wesleyan University’s Nick Gates has been named the Hauff Mid-America Great Plains Athletic Conference golfer of the week. Gates, a freshman from Mitchell, placed third in the Cougar Invite Thursday at Benson, Minn., that was hosted by the University of Minnesota-Morris. Gates shot a round of 78, which was just two shots behind the winner.
