Bull fighter back at Stampede

One of the first memories bull fighter Kaleb Barrett has is watching the rodeo with his father when he was about 3 years old. On the weekend, his dad would make popcorn and the two of them would watch whatever rodeo happened to be on TV.

Young Cubs amateur baseball team expects state berth

SALEM — Despite the Salem Cubs amateur baseball team’s youth this year, manager Roger Duxbury has no doubt in his mind that his team is going to be able to make it to the state tournament. The Cubs are 11-5 overall and 10-5 in Cornbelt League action. Duxbury said one of the challenges that come along with being a young team is not being able to bounce back from errors as quickly as some other seasoned baseball players are able to.

It’s safe to say Dawson Jandreau’s life revolves around rodeo. The Kennebec native traveled to rodeos with his parents when he was a child and when he got older, he started competing in rodeos himself. Jandreau is just 21 years old, but he already has an impressive cowboy resume and is looking to add to it this summer.
