MHS golf team looking for consistency at state tournament

The Mitchell High School boys’ track team took fourth place and the MHS girls’ track team took seventh place at the Eastern South Dakota Conference track meet Saturday in Yankton.

Scotland’s Fiscel wins individual girls’ 4B title
Maggie Fiscel proved Friday that age and experience isn’t everything in golf.
The Scotland golfer picked up her first high school region tournament win at the Lakeview Golf Course in Mitchell and she’s not even in high school.
Fiscel is a seventh-grader, and the youngest girl on her team. She shot a 50 in the front nine and a 37 in the back to finish with an 87 to win the girls’ Region 4B tournament.

Kimball's Pick cards an 80 to take boys’ 4B region title
Finishing in sixth place at the state tournament last year did not sit well with the Kimball boys’ golf team.

Mitchell native Hieb wraps up college golf career
Mitchell native Eric Hieb wrapped up his collegiate golf career this week at the Central/West Region Championship at the Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park, Ariz.
Hieb finished with a score of 238 and came in 94th place out of 108 golfers.
