Two busted for meth in Mitchell

Two Mitchell residents have been arrested on drug charges, including possession of methamphetamine.
Kenneth Dean Fischer, 51, and Amy Demaranville, 43, were arrested Thursday after Mitchell police conducted a search of their house at 704 E. Ash St.
During the search, a small amount of methamphetamine and several items of drug paraphernalia were recovered. Fischer and Demaranville face charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Possession of a controlled substance is a felony punishable by 10 years imprisonment in the state penitentary and a $20,000 fine. Possession of drug paraphernalia is a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in the county jail and a $2,000 fine.
