Mitchell man accused of stealing tools

A Mitchell man was arrested March 6 for allegedly stealing and pawning more than $1,000 worth of tools from his landlord.

A Mitchell man was arrested March 6 for allegedly stealing and pawning more than $1,000 worth of tools from his landlord.

Derek Schleder, 35, is charged with grand theft, a felony with a maximum punishment of 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.

According to court documents, Schleder admitted to an officer with the Mitchell Police Division that he took tools belonging to his landlord and pawned them within the last three weeks.

A complaint charging Schleder with grand theft was filed Wednesday.
