Lower Brule woman denies resisting, assaulting officer

LOWER BRULE -- A Lower Brule woman pleaded not guilty March 14 to allegations she resisted and assaulted a federal officer.

Lauren LaRoche, 24, is charged with one count of assaulting, resisting and impeding a federal officer. She faces a maximum of eight years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted, plus three years of supervised release.

LaRoche was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service. A trial date has not been set.
