MAAC to meet and play in clay

The Mitchell Area Arts Council will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the home of Lelia Guilbert, 515 E. Third, Mitchell.
There will be a short business meeting followed by the program, which is hand-building Raku clay. Clay pieces will be bisque-fired and ready for raku firing on April 16 at Mitchell High School.Glazes will be available at the high school and the pieces will be quick-fired immediately after the glaze dries. There will also be other clays for hand building at the meeting. Traditional glaze firing will be Guilbert’s garage in mid-April. The cost of the clay will be $3 for a small brick size piece and more will be available. The public is invited to this meeting.
Children under age 14 are welcome to participate, but they need to be accompanied by a parent or an adult. For more information, call Guilbert at 995-1562.
