Sam Weller and Kendra Zirpel, sophomores at Mitchell High School, have been selected to participate in the 2013 South Dakota All-State Band Festival to be held in Rapid City on March 21-23.

Both students are clarinet players and this is the second year they both have been selected for All-State Band.

The participants were selected by audition from musicians all over the state.

“To be selected into this group is a huge accomplishment and both are in the running to be in this group for all four years of high school, an accomplishment that is maybe accomplished by fewer than 10 kids a year in the state. I am extremely proud of both of these young people,” said Ryan Stahle, Mitchell High School band director.
