Plans for water park in Rapid City announced
Rippin' Rapids will offer waterslides, tubing rides, rock climbing, a zip line and a rope course.
RAPID CITY (AP) — Rapid City will soon be home to a brand new vacation venue.
The media reports that developers announced they plan to build a new 93,000-square-foot water park.
Rapid City developer Robert Akers, Sr., announced that construction will begin this month on the five-story resort.
Rippin' Rapids will offer waterslides, tubing rides, rock climbing, a zip line and a rope course.
It will also boast South Dakota's first wave machine for surfing.
The park should be ready for tourists by spring of 2014.
