Aberdeen man pleads not guilty to child rape
Authorities said the girl, who is now 7, reported the improper contact to somebody at her school.
ABERDEEN (AP) — An Aberdeen man accused of raping a young girl has pleaded not guilty to the charge and other related charges.
The media reports that 41-year-old Frederick B. Slota is also charged with two counts of sexual contact with a child younger than 16.
Authorities said the girl, who is now 7, reported the improper contact to somebody at her school.
Slota's trial is scheduled for July
Slota has posted bond but may not have contact with the victim or minors while free.
The rape charge carries a maximum sentence of life in prison and a $50,000 fine. Charges of sexual contact charges carry maximum sentences of 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine.
