CORSICA — A Corsica man has been sentenced to more than 15 years in prison for receiving and distributing child pornography.

Shawn E. Stevens, 26, was sentenced Monday to 188 months in custody plus five years of supervised release. Stevens will also be required to register as a sex offender.

Stevens was indicted by a federal grand jury Dec. 6, 2011, and pleaded guilty Nov. 15.

The conviction stems from Stevens’ use of two different computers and external hard drives. The computer files that contained images of child pornography were distributed and received between October 2009 and March 2011.

The case was investigated by the Sioux Falls Police Department and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey C. Clapper prosecuted the case.

Stevens was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
