How state representatives voted on school sentinel bill

The state House of Representatives gave final approval Monday to the school-sentinels legislation, HB 1087.

The state House of Representatives gave final approval Monday to the school-sentinels legislation, HB 1087. The bill now goes to the governor. The vote Monday was 40-19 to accept the Senate version. The House had initially passed the bill 42-27 on Jan. 29. Four legislators switched sides Monday. Changing from no to yes were Republicans Melissa Magstadt of Watertown, Tim Rounds of Pierre and Tona Rozum of Mitchell. Changing from yes to no was Democrat Marc Feinstein of Sioux Falls. Eleven legislators were excused Monday: Five yes and six no from the Jan. 29 vote. One legislator, Lee Qualm, R-Platte, voted yes Monday after he wasn’t able to be present for the Jan. 29 vote.
