She was born on April 9, 1932.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hope BEEHLER Lutheran Church, Delmont. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Hope Lutheran Church, Delmont.
Arrangements are by Koehn Brothers Funeral Home, Parkston.
Leona Melinda Beehler was born to Theodore and Lydia (Winter) Bietz on the family farm near Delmont.
She attended and graduated from Delmont High School.
She was united in marriage to Eugene “Hans” Beehler on Nov. 18, 1953, in Delmont.
Leona worked as a teller at First State Bank in Delmont for 30 years.
She was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church and the Ladies aide.
For 38 years, she was an active participant in the Delmont Firemen’s sausage supper.
She spent many special hours babysitting her grandchildren, enjoyed spending time bowling in the Delmont Bowling League as well as enjoying camping with the Clay County Camping group.
She is survived by her son, Kevin Beehler and wife, Susan, Delmont; two grandchildren: Scott Beehler, Iroquois; and Amanda Beehler, Rochester, Minn.; three sisters: Viola Mach, Yankton; Ellestine Guthmiller, Meridian, Idaho; and Norma Verzani, Rapid City; a sister-in-law, Donna Mick, Mitchell; many nieces and nephews, and a granddog, Demon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Hans; mother-in-law, Elizabeth; a sister, Hilda Lippert; and numerous brothers-in-law.
