LETTER: Noem wrong about Social Security
Social Security is self-supporting. It has been for more than 50 years without government help.By: Ed Bender , Mitchell
To the Editor:
This is answer to Lee Thiery’s letter from Rapid City that Social Security has nothing to do with the deficit. Social Security is self-supporting. It has been for more than 50 years without government help.
The taxpayers pay into the Social Security fund every year when they pay their income taxes. The government uses our money in the Social Security fund to pay their bills.
The Social Security fund still has enough money for 20 years with no government help and no changes in the Social Security program. So Mr. Baker is right and Lee Thiery and Kristi Noem are wrong. Social Security hasn’t cost the government one penny.
