Jake Heumiller was MCM’s leading scorer with 17 points. Brandon Reif and Will Gottlob scored 10 points apiece. Gottlob tallied 13 rebounds to lead the team and Heumiller recorded five assists.
Deric Denning led MVP in scoring with 19 points, while Jared Long added 14. Denning and Kellam Karst led the Titans’ defense with five rebounds each and Long tallied seven assists.
MCM is 17-5 and takes on Platte-Geddes in the Region 5A championship Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Hartford. MVP ends the season 14-8.

Platte-Geddes 60, Parkston 29
PLATTE – Coby Johnson scored 16 points to lead Platte-Geddes over Parkston 60-29 in the District 10A championship Friday.
Tate Van Zee scored 13 points for the Panthers. Hunter Johnson recorded a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Richard Sternberg had nine points, six rebounds, six steals and five assists in the win.
Platte-Geddes shot 23-of-48 from the field and 10-of-18 from the free-throw line and totaled 36 team rebounds and 10 turnovers. The 15-7 Panthers play McCook Central/Montrose in the Region 5A championship Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Hartford.
Spencer Lucas led Parkston in scoring with 12 points. Parkston shot 12-of-42 from the field and 4-of-9 from the free-throw line. The Trojans tallied 35 team rebounds and 22 turnovers. Parkston finishes the season 12-10.

Canistota 62, Parker 37
TEA – Alex Robertson scored 19 points and Jason VanWinkle recorded a double-double as Canistota was crowned District 7B champion with a 62-37 win over Parker Friday.
VanWinkle scored 14 points and pulled down 13 rebounds for the Hawks. Robertson tallied seven steals and seven assists.
Canistota went 21-of-48 from the field and 17-of-23 from the free-throw line. The Hawks totaled 32 rebounds to Parker’s 20.
Zach O’Keefe scored 13 points for the Pheasants, who shot 13-of-47 from the field and 7-of-10 from the free-throw line.
Canistota is 21-1 and plays Viborg-Hurley in the Region 4B championship at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Tea. Parker finishes its season at 12-11.

Viborg-Hurley 43, Centerville 40
TEA – Viborg-Hurley had three players score in double digits as the Cougars defeated Centerville 43-40 in the District 8B championship Friday night.
Tyler Gerdes recorded 13 points and six rebounds, while Andrew Hora had 12 points, eight rebounds, three steals and one block. Jack Hora recorded 10 points and three rebounds.
Viborg-Hurley recorded 30 team rebounds, while Centerville finished with 23.
Logan Hunter scored 13 points for the Tornadoes and Seamus O’Malley had 10 points.
Viborg-Hurley (20-2) moves on to play Canistota in the Region 4B championship Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in Tea, while Centerville ends its season 16-5.

Girls’ basketball
Chamberlain 53, Cheyenne-Eagle Butte 35
GETTYSBURG – The Chamberlain Cubs advance to the Class A state girls’ basketball tournament with a 53-35 win over Cheyenne-Eagle Butte Friday in the Region 6A championship.
Abby Handel led Chamberlain’s scoring with 17 points, while Kennedy Wagner scored 16 and Alex Pederson scored 11 points in the win. Chamberlain went 16-of-33 from the field and made 12 free throws on 18 attempts from the line.
Wagner led the defensive effort, grabbing eight rebounds and Jaymee Knippling pulled down five rebounds. Wagner recorded 10 assists for the Cubs. Knippling had five steals and Pederson and Wagner each tallied four steals.
The 21-1 Cubs totaled 24 team rebounds and committed 15 turnovers. The Class A state tournament begins Thursday in Watertown.
K’Lona Lofton scored 12 points for the Braves. Cheyenne-Eagle Butte ends its season at 13-9.
