To the Editor:

Billy Bob Badger (BBB) and the Pistol Pete Prairie Dog met at the junction of the SE tip of the Big Slough and Cow Path No. 4 and visited.

BBB said, “Eagle has come back from another trip to Washington, D.C., and reported on the doings of the Two-Legged Ones (TLO). He says everything is the usual mess for them. Nothing they are trying to do is really going to accomplish much for us creatures.”

PPPD: “Wow — when will they ever learn that if they do right for us, they will be helping themselves to survive!”

BBB: “I know, but Eagle says they seem to be as divided now as some of the worst times in history. For example, when Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton wanted two different forms of government with power concentrated in the states and the individual people versus power in the central government to rule the people. Or, the big fights in Congress over slavery and the split among the TLO. Eagle said you should read the editorials and cartoons in the newspapers during those times — even worse than those against President Bush and President Obama in our time now. Eagle says some want more war than we have now with potential attacks on Iran and North Korea.

BBB: “Have the TLOs ever in their history fought a just war?”

PPPD: “Eagle says that Owl discussed that topic once in the World Animal Conference. He said we always come out on the short end of the stick. But a just war? Only to stop the mass killings of Hitler, he told. Owl says if you study history, almost all wars are based on some type of greed brought on by dictators or heads of religion. They seem to not mind the killing of millions of people just to get gains for themselves. And that goes for the Two Legged Ones as individuals or in small gangs. We all know our Spirits have told us and them the Way to Peace and Happiness, but they do not ever seem to learn.”
