MISSION — The Winner boys’ basketball team shot 27 percent from the field en route to falling to St. Francis 49-37 in the District 13A championship Thursday in Mission.

MISSION — The Winner boys’ basketball team shot 27 percent from the field en route to falling to St. Francis 49-37 in the District 13A championship Thursday in Mission.

Tanner Fritz led the Warriors in scoring with eight points, while Brendan Harter tallied a team-high five rebounds.

Winner was outrebounded 35-21, the Warriors also committed 15 turnovers.

Heading into the game, Winner was riding a seven game win streak.

Charles Broken Leg and James Henry II were St. Francis’s top two scorers.

Broken Leg scored a game-high 15 points and Henry II added 14.

St. Francis was 16-of-40 from the field.

Winner ends its season 11-9. St. Francis (17-5) advances to play Pine Ridge in the Region 7A championship Tuesday in Kyle.

Miller 50, Chamberlain 48

STEPHAN — Lee Sivertsen hit a shot with 1 second left on the clock to give Miller a 50-48 win over the Chamberlain boys’ basketball team in the District 12A championship Thursday.

Sivertsen had 17 points and Beau Keeter added 10 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double. Miller was 20-of-49 from the field, 8-of-13 from the free-throw line and had 12 turnovers.

Chamberlain’s Skyler Bertram had a game-high 21 points and Reuben Estes had 15 points and six assists. The Cubs were 16-of-45 from the field, 5-of-13 from the free-throw line and had 13 turnovers.

Chamberlain ended its season with a record of 15-6. Miller improved to 15-4 and advance to the region championship.
