Mitchell police investigating home burglary

The Mitchell Police Division is investigating a burglary that occurred earlier this week at a home in Mitchell.
Between 10:30 p.m. Monday and 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, a person or persons entered a home in the 400 block of East Seventh Avenue and stole a pair of tan steel-toed work boots and less than $100 in cash, according to Mitchell Police Detective Lt. Don Everson.
One person who was asleep in the home when the incident occurred told police he heard a noise but continued to sleep, then noticed the missing items when he got up, Everson said. The burglary was reported to police at approximately 5:14 a.m. Tuesday.
No arrests have been made in the case yet, Everson said.
