A man has been sentenced to one year in prison for violating his probation from a third-offense drunken driving conviction.
Maurice Rencountre, 32, admitted Jan. 8 to missing at least six mandatory breathalyzer tests last year. The tests were part of the state 24/7 Sobriety program, which Rencountre was required to participate in as part of his probation.
He was sentenced Tuesday at the Davison County Public Safety Center and given credit for the 123 days he has already served.
Rencountre was arrested in May 2003 but then failed to appear at court for seven years. He was finally sentenced in August 2011 to a two-year suspended prison term and fined $500.
