Dakota Wesleyan University women’s basketball team’s Kim Johnson was named to the all-Great Plains Athletic Conference first team, announced this week.

This is the first time since the 2003-04 season that a DWU player has received the accolade. This is also the first all-GPAC honor for Johnson, who scored 18.5 points per game this season.

Junior Amanda Hart earned all-GPAC second team honors and senior Celeste Beck and sophomore Elizabeth Lamb earned honorable mention praises.

Hart broke the DWU career record for 3-pointers with 284 in three seasons. Beck averaged 11 points per game this year, while Lamb averaged 8.9 points per game and 3.6 rebounds per game for the Tigers.

DWU’s Voss named to all-GPAC first team list

Dakota Wesleyan University’s Jalen Voss is the only sophomore to receive all-Great Plains Athletic Conference first team honors this season, announced Wednesday.

Voss, who was the conference’s co-Freshman of the Year last season, led the Tiger men’s basketball team in scoring with 14.2 points per game, rebounding with 9.9 rebounds per game and blocked shots with 44.

Seniors Mike Lee and Aireus Stephenson both earned honorable mention honors for DWU. Lee averaged 12.2 points per game this season, while Stephenson averaged 13.9 points per game this year.
