Things to remember

WAGNER HOSTS JOB ASSISTANCE PROGRAM: South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation will hold a job assistance program from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 106 S. E. Sheridan Ave., Wagner.

The program is for people recovering from job loss or enhancing their job search skills.

LIVESTOCK PRODUCTION MEETING SET AT KIMBALL: “The Next Generation of Livestock Production” forum will be at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28, at the Kimball Livestock Barn, Kimball.

Correction

An opinion piece on Page A5 of Monday’s edition included an incorrect bill number for legislation known informally as the patient choice act. The bill number is HB 1142.

Today in local history

Today in 2008, Mitchell School District Superintendent Joe Graves announced that Greg Von Wald, CEO and general manager of Golden West Technologies and Internet Solutions, would take over the top position at Mitchell Technical Institute as of July 1, 2008. Von Wald replaced then-President Chris Paustian upon Paustian’s retirement.
