Girls BB game postponed following deadly crash

MADISON (AP) — Schools official at two high schools in South Dakota have postponed a regional championship game after one of the players died in a car crash this weekend along with three members of her family.

MADISON (AP) — Schools official at two high schools in South Dakota have postponed a regional championship game after one of the players died in a car crash this weekend along with three members of her family.

The media reports that officials at Madison and Sioux Falls Christian schools rescheduled Thursday night's Region 3A girls' championship game to Saturday at 3 p.m. at Tea Area High School.

A prayer service has been scheduled for Thursday to honor 16-year-old Alyssa Vollmer, her father James, her mother Julie and her 13-year-old brother Caleb. All four died in a car crash near Sioux Falls on Saturday.

Alyssa Vollmer was a member of the Sioux Falls Christian girls' basketball team.
