Today, at the Corn Palace, Mitchell High School hosts Pierre in the first round of the girls’ District 3AA basketball playoffs.
Time: 7 p.m.
Records: Mitchell is 18-2 overall and went 13-1 in Eastern South Dakota Conference action this year, earning a shared title with Aberdeen Central. … Pierre is 10-10 and finished 7-7 in the ESD.
Notes: Mitchell swept Pierre during the regular season by scores of 65-27 and 61-32. … Mitchell is on a 13-game win streak. … Pierre has lost three of its last four games.
