Scholarship group to hold radiothon Monday

The Mitchell Community Scholarship Fund will hold its 10th annual Radiothon on Monday on KMIT and KOOL 98 radio in Mitchell.
The fund was established in 2002 to provide a scholarship for every graduate of Mitchell Senior High School and Mitchell Christian School who applies. To date, the fund has awarded 1,486 scholarships totaling more than $535,000. Last year’s awards were $550 and $500 each.
The Radiothon is a one-day fundraiser that has grown in size and scope each year. Last year, the event raised more than $55,000. It is the primary fundraiser for the Mitchell Community Scholarship Fund.
This year, donors will be once again able to participate in raffles for a 50-inch flatscreen television or an HP laptop computer. Pledges of $50 will enter a donor for one chance at the TV. Those pledging $25-$49 will have a chance to win the laptop, donated by Tech Solutions.

The Radiothon will be broadcast from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on FM 105.9 and 98.3.
