The Mitchell Police Division is seeking information on the theft of a van earlier this month from a fenced-in area surrounding Dependable Sanitation, located east of Mitchell.
Between noon Feb. 2 and 4:50 a.m. Feb. 4, a person, or persons, entered the fencedin area, located at 2801 E. Havens Ave., and stole the van, which had state commercial plate, license 86116C. On the side of the van, the words “Palace Motor Rentals” is still visible.
Anyone with information relating to this crime or suspicious activity in the area at the time should call Crime Stoppers at 996-1700.
Calls remain anonymous and a cash reward is available if a tip leads to the arrest of the person or people involved. There are no caller IDs attached to this phone line. To send a crime tip via text message, text “MITCS” plus a message to 274637. Upon receipt of a tipster’s first incoming message, the system will auto-reply with a confirmation containing the tipster’s unique tip ID. Anonymous two-way communication can then occur. Tips may also be submitted online at mitchellcrimestoppers.org.
A minimum of $250 is paid for rewards on all Crimes of the Week solved through Crime Stoppers. Rewards will not be paid if crime tips leading to an arrest are not made directly to Mitchell Area Crime Stoppers Inc. by telephone, text message or by web tip. To date, 340 crimes have been solved through information from Crime Stoppers.
