• 'A Good Day to Die Hard'

SNITCH

Based on a true story, this fast-paced action thriller stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

A father’s teenage son is wrongly accused of a drug distribution crime. His son is looking at a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 10 years. Desperate and determined to rescue his son at all costs, he makes a deal with the U.S. Attorney to work as an undercover informant and infiltrate a drug cartel. This dangerous mission risks everything, including his family and his own life.

“Snitch” opens Friday nationally, including at the Luxury 5 Cinemas. 95 minutes. It is rated PG-13 for drug content and violence.

SAFE HAVEN

Josh Duhamel (“Transformers”) and Julianne Hough (“Footloose”) star in this gripping love story infused with suspense and discovery.

This new romantic-thriller is based on the latest novel from best-selling author Nicholas Sparks, whose books have been made into the hit films “The Notebook,” “The Last Song,” “Nights in Rodanthe” and “Dear John.”

In an effort to escape her past, a young woman (Hough) moves to a small North Carolina town. She catches the eye of a handsome handyman who is also a widowed father. She resists his advances but finally agrees to have dinner with him. As he tries to heal her heart, they suddenly find themselves in danger as her past catches up with her.

“Safe Haven” is held over. 116 minutes. It is rated PG-13 for thematic material involving threatening behavior, and for violence and sexuality.

BEAUTIFUL CREATURES

Oscar nominee Richard LaGravenese directs from his adaptation of the first novel in the best-selling series by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl.

A supernatural love story set in the South, this new romantic thriller tells the tale of two starcrossed lovers: Ethan (Alden Ehrenreich), a young man longing to escape his small town, and Lena (Alice Englert), a mysterious new girl. Together, they uncover dark secrets about their respective families, their history and their town.

Heading the cast are Oscar nominee Viola Davis (“The Help”), Emmy Rossum (TV’s “Shameless”) and Academy Award winner Emma Thompson

“Beautiful Creatures” is held over. 124 minutes. It is rated PG-13 for violence, scary images and some sexual material.

A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD

Bruce Willis returns as John McClane and goes back into action with his son.

Since the first “Die Hard” in 1988, John McClane has found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, with the skills and attitude to always be the last man standing, making him enemy No. 1 for terrorists the world over. Now, McClane faces his greatest challenge ever, this time on an international stage, when his estranged son Jack is caught up in the daring prison escape of a rogue Russian leader. Father and son McClane must work together to keep each other alive and keep the world safe for democracy.

“A Good Day to Die Hard” is held over. 98 minutes. It is rated R for violence and language.

IDENTITY THIEF

This new comedy is from the director of “Horrible Bosses.”

Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy (“Bridesmaids”) lead the cast of this all-star comedy in which a regular guy is forced to extreme measures to clear his name. With everything to lose after his identity is stolen, he’ll find out how crazed you can get trying to settle a bad credit score. Unlimited funds have allowed Diana (McCarthy) to live it up on the outskirts of Miami. She’s the queen of retail who buys whatever strikes her fancy.

There’s only one glitch: the ID she’s using to finance these sprees reads “Sandy Bigelow Patterson,” and it belongs to an accounts rep (Bateman) who lives halfway across the U.S.

With only one week to hunt down the con artist before his world implodes, the real Sandy Bigelow Patterson heads south to confront the woman with an all-access pass to his life. As he attempts to bribe, coax and wrangle her the 2,000 miles to Denver, one easy target will discover just how tough it is to get your name back.

“Identity Thief” is held over. 111 minutes. It is rated R for sexual content and language.
