LOWER BRULE — A Lower Brule man was sentenced Tuesday to one year in prison and five years of supervised release for abusive sexual contact.
Wade Goodface, 20, pleaded guilty to the charge last November. In addition to the prison time, Goodface also will be required to register as a sex offender.
The charge stems from an incident on Feb. 17 when Goodface went to the home of a female acquaintance and her brother, and asked her to go on a walk with him. Her brother accompanied them and the three walked around Lower Brule.
During the walk, Goodface attempted to get his friend’s brother to leave, and the group ended up at the place where Goodface was staying. In a continued attempt to get the brother to leave, Goodface engaged in sexual abuse, with the intent to harass the brother.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Meghan N. Dilges prosecuted the case. Goodface was turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
