LETTER: Media, government assaulting US’s virtue
I also want to voice my disgust of those profound reprobates that write and direct television programs and movies of violence and immorality.By: Marvin Lau, Armour
To the Editor:
“A House divided against itself cannot stand!” Lincoln said that. He got that from the Bible. To those of us who love liberty, that “believe liberty is a gift of god,” (Jefferson said that) our nation’s history is a great heritage.
I wish I could believe Obama has a concern about the nation’s debt. Before Christmas, Huckabee reported that in his first 1,400 days in office, Obama appointed an average of 101 federal employees a day. It doesn’t surprise me the elite media didn’t find this newsworthy. I also want to voice my disgust of those profound reprobates that write and direct television programs and movies of violence and immorality.
Their assault on virtue, honesty and integrity should be given credit for corrupting our nation and the result of aiding the development of psychos that want to do Moslem-type murder and terror. Throw in the American Civil Liberty Union and its all-out effort to reduce liberty to the point where it isn’t worth defending.
A.W. Tozer in his book, “The Knowledge of the Holy” said: “The law was given to man through Moses but it did not originate with Moses. It had existed in the heart of God from before the foundation of the world. On Mount Sinai it became the legal code for the nation of Israel. But the moral principles it embodies are eternal: there never was a time when the law did not represent the will of God for mankind or a time when the violation of it did not ring its own penalty. Paul’s argument although in the third and fifth chapters of his Epistle to the Romans makes this very clear. The spring of Christian morality is the love of Christ, not the Law of Moses; nevertheless there has been no abrogation of the principles of morality contained in the law.
“No privileged class exists exempt from that righteousness which the law enjoins.”
Isaiah said this of his wayward nation, “And judgment is turned away backward and justice standeth afar off; for truth is fallen in the street and equity cannot enter.” (Isaiah 59:14).
