April 1 deadline set to seek property tax assessment freeze

The Davison County Treasurer’s Office reminds those aged 65 and over or disabled prior to Jan. 1 to apply for the property tax assessment freeze before April 1.

The Davison County Treasurer’s Office reminds those aged 65 and over or disabled prior to Jan. 1 to apply for the property tax assessment freeze before April 1.

Qualifications include income under $26,020.21 for single persons and $32,525.26 for multiple person households. Homes must also have a value under $178,607.61.

Proof of disability (if applicable) is required each year upon application for the freeze. All forms of income from 2012 or your 2012 income tax return must be presented in the Treasurer’s office for verification.

The assessment freeze must be applied for on a yearly basis.
