MCS girls beat B-E, win fourth straight

EMERY — The Mitchell Christian girls’ basketball team won its final road game of the regular season Tuesday.

Despite being outrebounded 27-24, Mitchell Christian managed to defeat Bridgewater-Emery 60-47.

The Eagles were led by junior guards Alexa Van Laecken and Becca Glanzer. Van Laecken scored a game-high 18 points, grabbed seven rebounds and finished with five steals. Glanzer had 15 points, five assists and six steals.

Freshman center/forward Emily Reynen chipped in with 13 points and seven rebounds.

Bridgewater-Emery finished with 22 turnovers. The Huskies were led by a trio of double-digit scorers.

Kadra Kayser finished with 13 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals. Tiana Kayser had 12 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Justine Dye chipped in with 11 points.

Mitchell Christian is 13-5 and faces Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Friday in Mitchell.

Bridgewater-Emery finished the regular season 7-12.
