The high school student council is raising money to fight childhood blood cancer.
They will be participating in a program called Pennies for Patients sponsored by The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The penny wars will be starting Feb. 11 and ending March 11.
Although it is called a penny way, other change, bills or checks are also welcome. There will be containers in each classroom to collect the money. The class that collects the most money will win a pizza party.
There will be additional activities during the weeks to raise funds for this cause. Anyone can donate through the school link at http://mn.sy.llsevent.org/EthanSchool.
This school link is a safe and secure way to donate without the hassle of coins. It is also a good way to get grandparents and out of town relatives involved.
The Ethan CSO, Community Service Organization, would like to encourage everyone to turn in their labels for education and milk lids. They are holding a contest to see which class can collect the most labels and lids.
The class that collects the most will win a pizza party. The deadline to turn in the labels and lids is Feb. 20.
The Ethan Booster Club will be sponsoring a pregame meal prior to and during the girls’ basketball game on Tuesday. They will be serving pork loin sandwiches, chips, bars and a drink for $5. Serving will begin at 5:30 p.m.
Upcoming events:
Tuesday: Parents’ Night, girls’ basketball vs. Freeman at 6:30 p.m. Ethan Booster Club pregame meal beginning at 5:30 p.m. Pennies for Patients activity: Hat Day; students can bring $1 to wear a hat during the school day.
Thursday: Parent-Teacher conferences from noon to 6:30 p.m.
Friday: Boys basketball vs. Tripp-Delmont-Armour at Armour at 5:15 p.m.
