Hanson tops Mitchell Christian 59-52

ALEXANDRIA - Despite shooting 66 percent from the field, the Mitchell Christian boys’ basketball team fell to Hanson 59-52 Thursday in a high school basketball game.

The loss was the Eagles’ 14th of the season.

Hanson was led by a trio of double-digit scorers. Matt Huber finished with a team-high 15 points, Trey Persson added 11 and Aaron Wenande chipped in with 10.

Hanson only committed nine turnovers and had 17 assists.

Mitchell Christian outrebounded Hanson 22-14 and converted 10 of its 13 free-throw attempts.

The Eagles were led by Jackson Feiner, who made six free throws and finished with 21 points.

Chandler Nelson and Adam Rasmussen were the only other MCS players to reach double figures.

Nelson finished with 12 points and seven rebounds, while Rasmussen had 10 points and six rebounds.

Mitchell Christian plays Menno Monday in Menno. Hanson is now 11-5.
