Here is a summary of the four pieces of teen-driving legislation considered Wednesday by the state Senate.

SB 105: Adds a minimum of three months and as much as six months to the time that a firsttime driver holds an instruction permit. Passed 21-14. Voting against 105 were Begalka, Bradford, Brown, Frerichs, Holien, Jensen, Maher, Monroe, Olson, Peters, Rave, Rhoden, Sutton and Van Gerpen.

SB 106: Prohibits use of wireless communications devices for conversations or texting by drivers younger than age 16. Passed 26-9. Voting against 106 were Bradford, Brown, Holien, Jensen, Maher, Omdahl, Peters, Rhoden and Van Gerpen.

SB 107: Limits passengers in a vehicle operated by a driver with a restricted permit. Passed 18-17. Voting against were Bradford, Brown, Frerichs, Holien, Jensen, Lucas, Maher, Monroe, Novstrup, Olson, Peters, Rampelberg, Rave, Rhoden, Sutton, Van Gerpen and Welke.

SB 216: Establishes statewide driver-education program. Passed 30-5. Voting against were Holien, Hunhoff, Jensen, Maher and Peters.
