A Minnesota man pleaded guilty Tuesday to possession of a controlled substance.

Hunter Gulden, 20, was arrested Oct. 29 during a traffic stop on Interstate 90 about 10 miles west of Mitchell in which law enforcement found Adderall, a controlled prescription drug, in his vehicle. In court Tuesday, Gulden told Judge Tim Bjorkman a friend gave him the pills for his ride home to Minnesota, but he didn’t ingest any.

Prosecutors dismissed two lesser charges and agreed to recommend Gulden receive a suspended three-year prison sentence and no more than 90 days in jail.

A presentence investigation was ordered and sentencing was set for March.
