Ethan man pleads guilty to distributing marijuana

State law requires a mandatory minimum of 30 days in prison or county jail for anyone convicted for the first time of distributing marijuana.

An Ethan man pleaded guilty Tuesday to distributing marijuana.

Levi Young, 30, admitted he sold 1 gram of marijuana Aug. 15 in Mitchell after entering the plea. Prosecutors dismissed a lesser charge and agreed to recommend Young receive a suspended two-year prison sentence and no more than 60 days in jail in exchange for his guilty plea.

A presentence investigation was ordered and sentencing was set for March.
