Xanadu: Mitchell one-act play is Tuesday

High school group performing story of roller disco opening.

The Mitchell High School one-act play group will perform “Xanadu” at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the high school auditorium.

The musical is a spoof of the 1980s movie “Xanadu,” which follows Sonny Malone, who is inspired by a Greek muse to open a roller disco.

“It was dubbed the worse movie ever by a lot of critics,” said Jake Louder, who plays Sonny Malone. “But it has some pretty funny moments.”

A muse named Kira, played by Marian Ragels, comes down to inspire Malone.

The play is open to the public and free of charge.
