Authorities search for parolee with ties to Davison County

Sioux Falls - A search is under way for a parolee who absconded from the Community Transition Program in Sioux Falls.
Jarod Shoemaker, 31, was assigned to the Community Transition Program at Unit C, the minimum-security unit of the Jameson Annex to the South Dakota State Penitentiary. He left the program this morning without authorization.
He was originally sentenced to 10-year concurrent sentences for escape out of Yankton County and possession of a weapon by an inmate out of Davison County.
Shoemaker is a white male with brown hair and green eyes. He is 6-feet-1 inches tall and weighs approximately 190 pounds.
Anyone who sees Shoemaker or knows of his whereabouts should contact law enforcement immediately.
