PIERRE (AP) — The state Agriculture Department is holding workshops in northwestern South Dakota on how to renovate shelterbelts.
The free workshops will provide information on how to evaluate shelterbelts and plan improvements. Information will include replacing or removing selected trees and shrubs.
John Hinners of the Agriculture Department says drastic drops in temperature, heavy snow, high winds and drought can damage and kill trees in shelterbelts.
The workshops will be held Feb. 12 in Buffalo and Bison, Feb. 13 in Dupree and Faith, and Feb. 14 in McIntosh and Timber Lake.
