Association honors area men’s services

Gordon Hofer, Silver Lake Township, Hutchinson County; and Irvin Dykstra, Spring Valley Township, McCook County; were honored recently for their longterm service to local government at the South Dakota Association of Towns and Townships Annual meeting held in Huron.
Hofer began his service in 1966, where he served as Silver Lake’s treasurer for 46 years. He and wife Alvina have farmed south of Bridgewater since taking over the family farm.
Dykstra has been on the board of Spring Valley Township since 1964.
