PIERRE — Some legislators are pushing for a U.S. constitutional convention. The House Taxation Committee members took an unusual step in submitting a joint resolution calling for a convention for the sole purpose of a balanced budget amendment. Rep. Brock Greenfield, R-Clark, is the chairman. It needs approval from the full House and Senate. Two-thirds of the states would need to agree to proceed.
