SDSU women sweep season series over USD

VERMILLION — Megan Waytashek led all players with 18 points in South Dakota State’s 63-55 victory over the University of South Dakota women’s basketball team Wednesday.

VERMILLION — Megan Waytashek led all players with 18 points in South Dakota State’s 63-55 victory over the University of South Dakota women’s basketball team Wednesday.

The Jackrabbits (16-6, 8-1 Summit) swept the series 2-0 this season and have won 10 of their last 11 games.

Ashley Eide scored 15 points and Gabrielle Boever added 10 points for SDSU, which shot 39 percent from the field and 67 percent from behind the line.

The Coyotes (11-11, 6-3 Summit) were led by Tempestt Wilson with 15 points. Nicole Seekamp had 13 points and Lisa Loeffler chipped in with 12 for USD, which shot 41 percent from the field and 50 percent from the foul line.
