After a several-year hiatus, Tickled Pink and Bliss Bridal owner Megan Sabers decided to try hosting a prom and wedding attire style show in Mitchell.

She said The Prom and Bridal Showcase, which was Jan. 13 at the Highland Conference Center in Mitchell, was a success.

While Sabers said exact counts for such an event are tricky, she estimates more than 300 people attended the day, which included showcasing multiple area vendors and the afternoon runway show.

The runway show featured local volunteers, many of them area high school students, modeling wedding gowns, prom dresses and tuxedoes available from Sabers’ stores.

It went so well, in fact, that Sabers is already looking toward next year’s show.

“It was a really good event,” she said. “Next year we just hope to make it even bigger and better.”

While details are uncertain so far out, she does know she’ll try to feature more wedding gowns next year.
