SIOUX FALLS (AP) — Bond has been set at $20,000 for a man accused of leading Sioux Falls police on a vehicle chase, punching one officer and kicking another, and slamming a police dog in his truck door.

Authorities allege that 52-year-old David Mortensbak was drunk at the time of the incident Saturday night. He made his initial court appearance Monday on numerous charges including assault on a law officer and injuring a law enforcement animal. He did not enter pleas.

Mortensbak was treated after the incident for dog bites. The officers and police dog were not seriously injured.
