LETTER: Start federal spending cuts with Congress’ pay

I hope it will not be necessary for our national treasury to default on our fiscal commitments.

To the Editor:

I hope it will not be necessary for our national treasury to default on our fiscal commitments. However, if that should happen due to the failure of Congress to act, it seems to me that the first thing to cut or postpone should be the salaries of all members of Congress and all of their staff that are paid from federal funds.
