South Dakota Corn has honored Chad Blindauer, of Mitchell, with its Presidential Recognition Award.

Blindauer is wrapping up his term as president of the South Dakota Corn Utilization Council. He will remain on the board as a director for another year.

“Chad has demonstrated a great commitment to our organization and to the state’s corn growers. He’s been an outstanding leader and spokesman,” said Lisa Richardson, executive director of the Corn Utilization Council and the Corn Growers Association. “He generously volunteered his time, energy and expertise. He’s extremely knowledgeable about the issues and is dedicated to the betterment of agriculture, not only in the state but also (nationally).”

Blindauer joined the council’s board of directors in March 2008. He represents District 8, which encompasses Davison, Hanson, McCook, Hutchinson, Douglas and Bon Homme counties. He also serves on the Biotechnology Action Team for the National Corn Growers Association.

He farms near Mitchell, raising corn, soybeans, winter wheat and alfalfa. He also has a cow-calf operation. He and his wife, Kristy, have three children: Alexis, Kane and Devin.
