Fort Pierre development officials looking ahead

FORT PIERRE (AP) — The executive director of the Fort Pierre Development Corporation says last year brought continued recovery from the 2011 Missouri River flooding, and he hopes 2013 sees some forward steps for the central South Dakota community.

FORT PIERRE (AP) — The executive director of the Fort Pierre Development Corporation says last year brought continued recovery from the 2011 Missouri River flooding, and he hopes 2013 sees some forward steps for the central South Dakota community.

The group is holding its annual meeting Tuesday evening at the Casey Tibbs South Dakota Rodeo Center.

Dave Bonde tells the media the meeting will feature a speaker from the Governor's Office of Economic Development, the awarding of the Fort Pierre Business of the Year award and news regarding future development.

Bonde says the group also will fill a position on the board that's being vacated by Kathy Heiss because of term limits.

The meeting begins with a social at 6:30 p.m.
